Women's Retreat: Reclaiming the Feminine

Time & Location

22 Jun 2024, 17:00 – 28 Jun 2024, 12:00

Tara Nature Retreat, Vocabolo I Fossi, 20, 06059 Todi PG, Italy

About the Retreat

Inviting all mothers, daughters, friends, sisters, sages, witches, wild women. Retreating to a safe space in the beautiful Italian countryside to gather in circle, to hold and be held, to laugh and to cry, to empower and to heal, to deeply relax and to fully celebrate being woman!

Indulge in the experience of yin and restorative yoga to truly deepen your practice both physically and spiritually. During your week with us you will gain a deeper understanding of your Feminine self by tapping into the subtle energies in the poses, dances and rituals. You will loosen your joints, clear your mind, and through deep relaxation you will find greater ability to connect with your intuition. Within the classes you will learn grounding meditations, visualizations and breathing techniques to improve health and balance emotions.

Restorative yoga is a completely different experience than most other styles of yoga. It allows us to really embrace the power of rest in a practice of deep relaxation. This emphasizes the meditative aspect of yoga - the union of body and mind. Through the use of props for support, many of the poses are held effortlessly. When the body enters this state of relaxation the mind can also consciously relax as tension is released from both body and mind.

While energetic forms of yoga focus on muscular development and are beneficial to increase strength and flexibility in the body, Restorative yoga relaxes the muscles and supports the regenerative and healing process of the body and mind. This enables deep relaxation as you hold poses for longer periods of time with the help of props to completely support you. Our parasympathetic nervous system is stimulated when we relax into poses, which promotes a relaxation response and reduces stress in our bodies. The parasympathetic nervous system is responsible for slowing the heart rate and calming the breath, while increasing blood flow to vital organs and boosting the immune system. Restorative Yoga enhances our nervous and immune systems, improving our capacity for healing and balancing. It is medicine for anxiety, stress and burn-out.

Coming together as Women we will explore the Feminine through the Five Elements, Five Feminine Archtypes, Yin & Restorative Yoga, meditation, dance, the moon cycle and hormonal balancing. This is an opportunity to deepen your relationship with Mother Nature, connect with other sisters, while empowering your own inner Goddess! Flowing through the Five Elements we connect with each in deep layers. Earth for our physical body, inner Mother and topic of nourishment. Water for our emotional body, Medicine Woman and topic of self-love. Fire for our psychological body, Wild Woman and topic of transformation. Air for our intuitive body, Inner Child and topic of freedom. Spirit for our spiritual body, Wise Woman and topic of womb wisdom.

We gather in circle as equals, learning from each other as sisters, being guided by Mother Nature.

"I visited this magical place with my partner and it's exactly as expected, and more. A true nature retreat where the stillness and beauty of the natural environment can be felt and seen. If you're looking for a place to rediscover the connection with mother earth and yourself then this is a perfect choice. Caroline and Tim are some of the kindest, most knowledgeable hosts and I would highly recommend visiting them for a retreat. There's yoga, wholesome nutrition, mindfulness practice, joyful togetherness, peaceful sunrises. Exactly what we all need to recharge!"

About the Teachers & Founders

Caroline

Travelling the world, Caroline discovered yoga at 19 and continued with a dedicated personal practice that gave her a sense of stability in all her movement. Recognising the powerful transformation that happens during a retreat, she has spent the past five years hosting her own yoga retreats and immersions in Italy and Bali. As a certified 500hr Elemental Yoga Teacher & Yoga Therapist, passionate foodie and holistic health coach she has found her soul work in creating healing retreats, offering one-on-one coaching sessions and writing.  She has written two books: This is for You and Nature's Calling. With a new cookbook just out! Growing up in East Africa, Caroline was raised with a deep respect for Mother Nature and has deepened this connection through her travels, way of life and, now, the manifestation of Tara Nature Retreat. Her favorite colour is green, she loves mangoes and singing Disney songs.

Timothy-Patey-Yoga-Retreat-Italy-Tara-Nature.jpg

Timothy

Timothy's journey to personal transformation began with a wander through India in 2003. This was the pivot point for years of training in the yogic, shamanic, and buddhist traditions. He has completed over 500hr Hatha Yoga and Yoga Nidra certified trainings, and is a passionate educator in both yoga and in the natural sciences at the university of his PhD. Timothy integrates psychology, non violent communication, and buddhist philosophy into his guidance, coupled with his intuition and sense of personal truth. His guidance aims for improved understanding of our inner experiences, our habitual interactions all around us, and with building the grit and volition necessary to bring about personal transformation within this lifetime. Timothy's favourite colour is blue, enjoys ecstatic dance, chess, good food, philosophical conversations and his heart warms when guiding singing circles around a campfire.
